Taking photos simultaneously excites and soothes me. I enjoy the light at dawn and dusk; intimate portraits of color and shape; the dialogue between angles and curves; and dream-like, ethereal images. I enjoy collaborating with people to create a portrait that feels honest to the person in the photo. I like to put together photo essays on topics that are personal to me with the input and collaboration of many others. I like the process of taking a photo. That it lets me stop and stare at flowers for an extra few minutes. I love walking through beautiful places with a camera. I love the calm of B&W and the excitement of color. I love the texture in photos, especially a well-printed B&W print. I love when my calm, my spirit, shows through in my photography. I like that photography allows me translate the emotional responses that I have to the world around me into something that can be shared with others.
